February Shikibox Battle Set Review – My First Box! :D

21 Mar

Shikibox is a fairly new subscription box company that sends out authentic snacks all the way from japan to your doorstep. You can choose the Candy & Snack Box for 30$ (Has LOADS of Snacks. Maybe around 15-30.) , The Battle Box for 20$ or the Trial Box for 15$. They do free worldwide shipping so you don’t have to worry about paying expensive shipping! For this review, I review the Battle Set!

Shikibox ships or takes orders on the 20th every month. Their shipping method depends on SAL,  so transportation time and the arrival varies by country. but you should receive your box in the second week of the month.

They accept paypal and you can cancel your monthly plan anytime!

The battle set usually contains 20-28 snacks (10-12 types) and a list of the snacks in english and japanese that you get in the box is included as well which I think is very useful if you don’t read japanese.

I was really excited when I saw the loads of snacks in front of me. They all look interesting and fun! It’s a lot more than I expected~

This is an extra or thank you snack that I received from Shikibox after using Subaholic’s coupon code. Huge thanks to them!

Kyabetsu Taro –  is a Japanese snack food made by the Kado company of Ibaraki Prefecture. It consists of balls of corn about 3 cm in diameter flavoured with small pieces of nori and Japanese brown sauce.

I really enjoyed this snack! Eventhough Kyabetsu actually means cabbage, it isn’t really included in the ingredients. lol. Love the packing as well. with the frog wearing a police uniform and all.

Gari Bori Ramen – This is a ramen/noodle snack that you eat right away. You don’t have to cook it or add water like how we usually do when we eat noodles. It’s not the best snack but for some reason, I can’t stop eating it!

Pachi Pachi Panic! – Now this candy is similar to Pop Rocks!, the candy that used to be popular when I was kid. It differs from typical hard candy and it creates a fizzy reaction when it dissolves in one’s mouth. Really enjoyed the feeling whenever the candy explodes in my mouth and how it sounds XD This is soda flavor judging by the mascot we have in the packaging.

Umaibo – This is a corn snack from japan which is pretty similar to cheetos but much longer in size. There a lot of flavours available including teriyaki, caramel, chocolate, and so on. The packing is pretty cute too and the mascot is actually named, Umaemon, who is also similar to the popular anime character, Doraemon! Really enjoyed this snack with it’s different flavours! It actually tastes like the flavour says unlike other snacks. Got 6 of these 🙂

Black Thunder –  is a chocolate bar made and sold in Japan by the Yuraku Confectionery Company. It contains a cocoa-flavored cookie bar mixed with Japanese-style rice puffs, coated with chocolate.  The main advertising slogan translates to “Delicious taste in a flash of lightning!”.

Okay, This one’s delicious! This is for sure my favorite snack in this box. Got 3 of these~

Fort – This is a cookie which I think will be great with tea. Comes with two different flavours though I’m not sure what flavour since they didn’t mention it in the list. But we got one with chocolate filling and the other one.. I kinda forgot. but probably milk chocolate.

Shiruko Sand – Another biscuit great with tea.

Mashumaro Ichigo and Mashumaro Purin –  Or Strawberry Marshmallow and Pudding flavored Marshmallow which I think most of you guys know. since ”Mashumaro” sounds like Marshmallow, and Purin sounds like Pudding but with japanese accent XD This one’s really soft and squishy! and it taste’s delicious too!

A bunch of candies (Hachimitsu Kinkan Nodoame included) –  We got different flavours of candies. though one’s chocolate and unfortunately, It got melted. but still, It didn’t stop me from eating it! which I’m glad I decided to keep it because it tastes delicious!

This is the bag that contains some of the candies you guys saw earlier 🙂

So that’s all the snacks for the February Battle Box! For 20$ you get loads of authentic japanese snacks and I’m really glad I ordered from them~ Definitely worth the money! The price is reasonable and the snack they give you are snacks you can’t really get elsewhere! Highly recommend Shikibox ^^
